White quinoa (say KEEN-wah) is an incredibly nutritious superfood, high in fibre, protein, and essential minerals like magnesium, potassium, zinc and iron. It is also loaded with antioxidants and has a low glycemic index, meaning that it does not raise blood sugar levels quickly. White quinoa cooks the fastest compared with black and red versions, and has a slightly softer texture. It is a great healthy substitute for rice or pasta, and you can even add it to your salads for some extra flavour and energy. We imported our quinoa directly from the Agro Condor farms on the slopes of Peru, where Quinoa was first cultivated 3,000 years ago.
