Black quinoa (say KEEN-wah) is an incredibly nutritious superfood, high in fibre, protein, and essential minerals like magnesium, potassium, xinc and iron. It is also loaded with antioxidants and has a low glycemic index, meaning that it does not raise blood sugar levels quickly. Cooking quinoa is as simple as cooking rice. It is a great healthy substitute for rice or pasta, and you can even add it to your salads for some extra flavour and energy. Black quinoa has a crunchier texture compared with red and white quinoa, and it takes about five minutes longer to cook. We imported our quinoa directly from the Agro Condor farms on the slopes of Peru, where Quinoa was first cultivated 3,000 years ago.
